Science and Technology way to go - NRM women leaders.

A section of women leaders in the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party has encouraged women to embrace digital technology and science as the country readies to commemorate International Women’s Day this Wednesday, March 8.

This year’s commemoration will take place in Kiruhura district under the theme ‘Equal opportunities in Education, Science, and Technology for Innovation and a Gender Equal Future.’

The NRM Women League Chairperson, Hon. Lydia Wanyoto, said women should not fear trying out the exiting technology spaces because they have the capacity to favorably compete with their male counterparts in the chase for innovation.

"The world has gone global in terms of technology. We call upon women in Uganda to up their game. I encourage women not to fear the sciences because that is where the world is heading. That is where advancement is leading," Wanyoto said.

She added, "Women can use technology to achieve in sectors as the World Economic Forum’s Technology Pioneer community is composed of early to growth-stage companies from around the world involved in the design, development and deployment of new technologies and innovations.
