The first Senior Civil Servant in the office of the Prime Minister has been arraigned before the Anti-Corruption Court in Kololo and charged with defrauding Karamojongs of 9,000 iron sheets.
Joshua Abaho, the Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Karamoja Affairs has this morning 27th of April been charged been remanded until 2/5/2023 on charges of Corruption & Conspiracy to defraud following the diversion of iron sheets meant for vulnerable of Karamoja sub region.
Abaho was charged together with Minister for Karamoja Affairs, Mary Goretti Kitutu and has allegedly been on the run.
When Kitutu was charged, court also issued criminal summons for the Mr Joshua Abaho, who was by then the third suspect. He was expected to appear in court on April 12 to plead to the charges.
Abaho was at the center of the Karamoja iron sheets saga with his name appearing prominently as the officer who issued the iron sheets to the beneficiaries many of whom are now facing criminal prosecution.
