KCCA applauds Presidential directives on roads in Kampala.

KCCA management has welcomed the President's directive to the Minister of Finance to release the road maintenance budget to KCCA to take care of the bad roads. The Presidential Directive was made at State House Entebbe on Wednesday while meeting a cross section of government leaders. The President directed the release to KCCA of Ug.Shs. 6billion for roads

Dorothy Kisaka said, the directive has answered the outcry by the citizens and also supports the smart city transformation agenda. We can not trivialise the issue of pot holes in the city.

It's real and needs attention because it affects the well-being of road users. Potholes drive up road user costs through frequent vehicle repairs, long travel times, high accident rates, and others

She said todate there is over 25,000 square meters of potholes spread across the five divisions. The fixing of the roads is going to immediately commence using the funds availed and make the repairs
