Trouble: Former NUP MP Contestant, Masaba Ivan Flees His Kampala Home Over 267M Demanded by rival MP Wambedde.

The Northern City member of Parliament, Hon Seth Wambedde Kizangi is giving sleepless nights to his rival, Ivan Masaba.

 ''Wambedde wants his two hundred and Sixty Seven million shillings (267m) from me as per court ruling. I spent a lot of money during my 2021 campaigns where I was cheated my victory by him" - Ivan Masaba on a Phone call with our reporter.

According to information gathered by our spy, Ivan Masaba is currently on the run after getting a tip-off of his arrest. 

Still, on a phone call with our reporter, Masaba Claims he is not on the run. 

"Well, I appeared at Mbale High Court today 10th May 2023 and I was served.

Wambedde's bill is around 267M, lawyers KBW & Company Advocates are to look into the matter and we shall have another session on 19/5/23 to fight this bill lower.

Court of appeal early this year ruled out the election petition between Masaba Ivan and Wambedde Seth where it dismissed the case with costs. 

The court of appeal also confirmed Wambedde Seth as the duly elected Northern Division, Mbale City Member of Parliament.

Seth Wambende was dragged to court by Ivan Masaba accusing him and the Electoral Commission of electoral malpractice contrary to the Parliamentary Election's law. Ivan Masaaba, one of the candidates in the January Parliamentary election scored 9415 votes while Wambede got 9854 votes.  Masaaba challenged Wambende’s election saying that the electoral commission failed to conduct the elections as per the law.

Masaba had held that there was falsification, especially at Makosi polling station. Masaba asked the court to set aside Wambende’s victory and declare him the duly elected MP for Northern City Division.
