UNRA Installs temporary bridge at katonga to allow safe passage for pilgrims heading to Namugongo.

Uganda National Road Authority has revealed that pilgrims shall cross at river Katonga using a temporary pedestrian path it created last night.

''Our team on site has set up a temporary pedestrian crossing at Katonga ensuring safe passage for pilgrims.

The provision is to ONLY pilgrims, i.e.w heading from Masaka direction to Kampala & will be available on their return journey after Martyrs Day''. - UNRA via twitter.

River Katonga bridge was washed away by heaver floods two weeks ago making it impossible for road users to cross from Masaka to Kampala and vice versa.

This is the second time in five months culverts on this road have been washed away.
