Today, the Minister of Gender Labour and Social Development Hon Betty Amongi Akena today 26th June 2023, held a breakfast meeting with editors to sensitise them on the various components of the growth opportunities and productivity for women enterprises (GROW) Project that is being rolled out to Districts.
While speaking to the Editors, Minister Amongi thanked them for being the fourth estate and always serving the public .
" The media play an important role in creating, shaping public discourse and opinion; you are a watchdog to protect public interest and create awareness, you reach our target groups everyday through online, radio, television and newspapers, that's why we require collaboration with you" Amongi noted, during her presentation to the media.
She further noted that the project targets women in micro, small, and medium enterprises to grow their businesses.
The minister also thanked President, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, for his commitment to empowering women and supporting the project, and others like UWONET, EMYOOGA, OWC, INVITE that aims at supporting women's empowerment.
