The high court in Mbale on Friday 24 June 2023 sentenced Butebo County Member of Parliament, Hon. Doctor Patrick Mutono to six months in Maluku prisons over a defaulted debt.
It is alleged that Dr. Mutono had deliberately refused to clear a loan, amounting to three hundred million shillings (300) which he acquired from a money lender during the 2021 general elections.

According to our informers at Mbale high court, Mutono's ruling also required the legislator to pay off his loan.
Interestingly, non of the lawyers or court judges were willing to reveal to us any information regarding this case ruling.
Our team is still on the ground to find more facts about this case, though our sources are reliably informed that the Member of parliament spent a night at Maluku government prisons.
