Speaker Among Casts away Minister Ssempijja Report on the recent Kasese killings.

The speaker of parliament, Rt. Hon. Anita Among  cast away the report of Minister of defense, Bamulangaki Ssempinjja regarding the ADf attacks on Rubiriha Secondary School.

During the Thursday plenary, the minister of defense and veteran affairs minister, Hon. Bamulangaki SSempijja tabled a report regarding the recent the Kasese ADF before members of parliament.

This prompted several Members of parliament to raise pertinent questions on Lhubiriha school attack.

Hon. Florence Kabugho and Hon. Ferigo Kambale, all members of parliament from kasese fumed as to why the UPDF was reluctant in the time when the school was attacked yet there is always heavy deployment in Kasese

“Where were the security forces when the school was attacked?” Hon Florence Kabugho (Kasese District) said while Hon. Ferigo Kambale (Kasese Municipality) called for serious UPDF deployment to protect Ugandans.

Speaker Anitah Among asked minister Ssempijja why security didn't respond when the first report of the attack was made?

Minister Ssempijja responded with a contradicting statement. "We have already put very serious investigations on why these people [didn’t respond] on time"-Ssempijja.

The Minister further informed parliament that  President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, who is also the Commander-in-Chief had given them orders to beef up UPDF deployment and use advanced technology at border points to avert further ADF attacks.

After realizing that Minister Ssempijja's report had loop halls, the speaker of parliament refused to adopt it and directed that the Committee on Defence and Internal Affairs conducts a fact-finding visit to Kasese to assess the current situation.

“We also need a fresh statement from the Minister of Defence on the number of children abducted, and state of the patients."- Speaker Among.
