By-Election: NRM"s Akol Mary Declared Bukedea District Chairperson.

 

The Returning Officer, Bukedea District, Mugyenyi Joel Mugerwa has declared Akol Mary who has obtained the largest number of votes, winner of the Bukedea District Chairperson by-election.

Akol Mary, the NRM candidate won the race with 79692 votes, Lokwesiik Tichicus Ebukalin second with 4941 votes and in third position was FDC's candidate who scored 2343 votes.

According to the electral commission Chairperson, Justice Byabakama Mugenyi Simon, the election process was free and fair.

The position fell vacant after the passing on of Moses Alemukan, 49, who died on the 17th of December 2022 at Mulago cancer institute.
