Yesterday 2nd July 2023, marked the end of a three days festivals that took place in Mbale City. According to the program, the climax day was supposed to have big musicians like Sheeba Karungi but unfortunately, the heavy rains destructed the event
In the press conference which was held on Thursday 29th June 2023, the event organizers revealed to the press that the Elgon festival was to attract over 5000 Revellers.

Elgon Festival is a three-day cultural festival in Uganda and its unique curation that guarantees a party atmosphere.
Since its inception in 2020, the festival has attracted thousands of both local and international tourists who go through Mbale to celebrate culture and heritage.
.Priscila Khainza Mungoma, the proprietor of the Masaba Tourism Initiative and the lead organizer of the Elgon festival during a press conference said the main purpose of the event is to preserve the culture, Educate the young generation and Entertain.
"The whole vision of the Elgon festival is to make this an international tourism product, the uniqueness of who we are is an attraction, as Circumcision (Imbalu) is the most Karnival aspect in the world so how do you make an economy out of that?" Priscilla noted.
