Dr. Mutono Patrick, Mp for Butebo and county proprietor of Kanginima Hospital in Butebo District lobbies for medical facilities in Kanginima and Kabwangasi.
Over the weekend, a group of a delegation from AKSA Canada who happen to be the funders of the multi-billion projects was inspecting the two facilities, meeting leaders and stakeholders to establish and get views from them regarding the projects.
The team visited the former Kabwangasi Teachers Collage which was phased out by Government.
At this facility, it was established that Busitema University is in the final stages of taking over the facility to have enough faculties including a faculty of health science and Pharmaceutical.
According to Dr. Mutono, the health science and Pharmaceutical Project is underway and being sponsored by AKSA Canada.
"We are in the final stages of starting the construction of a medical school at Kabwangasi Teachers collage, we opted to use this college since the government has phased out grade three teachers and the facility is currently not functioning"- Dr. Mutono
He further said that the donners are also interested in funding for education courses to have a good quality of teachers.
"Government phased out grade three teachers to produce diploma and degree holders, so our funders are also in talks with Busitema Universty to have this program running as well"- Dr Mutono.
From Kabwangasi, the team proceeded to Kanginima Hospital to inspect the facility.
While at Kanginima Hospital, it was established that the facility is going to get more structures, bedding, medical equipment, and a medical training school.
Dr. Mutono Patrick is a medical Doctor and surgeon by profession, He joined parliament in 2016 and currently serving his second term as the Butebu County Member of parliament.
