The health condition of Kawempe North MP Muhammad Segirinya has deteriorated rapidly, a family member told Freeman News-UG on yesterday night as he was being flown to Germany for better treatment.
“If Segirinya is not flown out of Uganda for specialised care, the worst is possible,” said a family member who preferred anonymity to speak freely.
His personal Doctor refused to disclose Segirinya’s illness.
The lawmaker, who was recently incarcerated alongside fellow lawmaker Allan Ssewanyana (NUP, Makindye West) at Kitalya Prison over alleged involvement in two murders in Masaka.
According to a family member, Ssegirinya has been admitted in different medical facilities but not responding to treatment.
The family member further said that the Family Doctor advised them to fly him to German in order to save his life.
The popular MP was briefly admitted at Nairobi Hospital in Kenya in April 2021.
