1 Police officers dies of poison, 2 in critical condition in Mbale.


poison has claimed one (1) police officer and two others hospitalized after food poisoning. The officers are attached to Busiu police station in Mbale District.

It is alleged that the officers bought food in a restaurant near the station.

 

On Friday, 30th June 2023, three police officers attached to the Busiu police station graved for a food stop for their lunch where they chose their immediate restaurant which is next to Busiu SACCO bank.  

 

According to an eye witness, she alleged that the police officers were served immediately chicken, rice, and matoke but little did they know this was their last meal on earth.

Brief facts

 

It is alleged that on 28 June 2023 at around 2100c, the deceased and others while on duty (integrated patrol) at Busiu town council in Mbale district went for supper at a place yet to be established within Busiu town council.

 

 The deceased and driver no. 52783 c/ drv komaketch patrick mark a m/a aged 40 years who is also in critical condition ordered food while other crews ordered chapati. it is alleged that the orders of the deceased and the driver were centered center delayed after supper, they continued with work up to the morning of 29 June 2023.

 

 At around 0900c, the deceased started feeling stomach pain and feverish. he went to Elgon laboratory for a medical check-up and he was put on malaria treatment. the driver went back for duty with other crews but at around 1200c, he started experiencing similar symptoms as the deceased. he was rushed to Busiu health iv for first aid. immediately he was put on first aid, he started experiencing diarrhea. he was driven back and admitted at Mbale police health iii. today at around 0430c, the condition of the deceased worsened, and was rushed to Mbale general clinic and put on intensive treatment. he was pronounced dead an hour later.
