Rita Namuwenge commonly known as Mama Emyooga on sunday 2nd July 2023, attended a fundraising ceremony at St Peters Catholic Church in Bugunalire lower in Mutoto sub-county, Northern Division in Mbale City.
The EMYOOGA national coordinator was warmly welcomed by the church leadership and the congregants.
During the fundraising program, Namuwenge made a cash contribution in form of purchasing items up for auction worthy 600,000/=.
All her purchased items were then donated to the clergy.
In her message to the congregation, she urged Christians to put God first, listen and follow the church leaders' advice always and above all, work hard to raise God fearing and hardworking families.
She further advised the congregation to embrace government programs like EMYOOGA and PDM, where she is the national coordinator and director respectively.
The church leadership appealed to her to help the Catholic Church leaders SACCO to access government funding to help the clergy in improving their household incomes and welfare.
In her closing remarks, she promised to work closely with all the people of Mbale city to ensure that they embrace and benefit from government programs for the social economic transformation of the city.
"At an appropriate time, I will come back to ask for your support, as i intends to represent the people of Mbale city as a woman member of Parliament in the 12th Parliament" - Namuwange.
Namuwenge is expected to join active politics in 2026 as she pans to contest in Mbale city which currently has Hon. Connie Galiwaang as its Woman Member of parliament.
