EMYOOGA National coordinator Ritah Namuwenge contributes 1.15M as St. Paul's kick starts fundraising drive.

The St. Paul's College Old Students Association (SPACOSA) on Saturday 29th/Jul/2023 held the feast day at the school premises. It however wasn't an ordinary celebrations, as they launched a fundraising drive to raise funds to construct a Platinum Jubilee Block.

This monument, will hopefully be unveiled in 2025, as the year marks 75 years.

The old students, whose time in St. Paul's dated as far back as the 1950s, were generous when giving to a cause they obviously held dear.

Ritah Namuwenge, the national coordinator for Emyooga program said, Mbale college made her and others who they are. "Let us give back to the school, it is the reason we are this now" - Namuwenge.

"Am proud to come back here, the English I speak even when I come from the village is as a result of being here at Mbale college," Ritah revealed.

She noted that this was a special day and as they  aim higher, it's good to always remember where you came from and this is where her journey started from.

"We have come back home on a special day where they are discussing about development to ensure the continuity of this mighty Mbale college," She said.

"I want to tell you the young generation, that People used to struggle to be part of this community, because immediately you stepped here you became an archive of only reasonable people," Ritah.

According to the Chairperson SPACOSA Don Wanyama the CEO of Vision group, Namuwenge contributed Shs1.15m, Mbale city woman MP Connie Galiwango Shs1m among others.

Don revealed that, Connie represented, The Rt. Hon. Anita Annet Among, The Speaker of Parliament of Uganda who was supposed to be the chief guest and pledged Shs20 million towards the project.

"We managed to raise thirty six Million shill (36) million shillings in cash and pledges and this was only the beginning of a fundraising drive to raise the needed funds," - Don Wanyama.
