Wanyoto Lydia donates 5 tonnes of Maize seed to women in Mbale.



Over the weekend, National Resistance Movement National Women's League chairperson,  Hon. Lydia Wanyoto Mutende aka BIG SISTER gave out five  (5) tonnes of Maize seed.

The beneficiaries of this drive were women leaders from NRM Women League and NRM Women Council in the Bugisu sub-region.



Wanyoto advised the women who got the seeds to utilize them well and also share them with their neighbors.



while speaking before the press, Wanyoto said that one way of eliminating poverty and food insecurity in the community is by planting enough food, especially during this rainy season.


"Uganda is fertile, and Bugisu is very well known for food production, this is the right time for farmers and peasants to plant maize, beans, and other foodstuffs, at times we need to think outside I am one person who doesn't believe in politicians who give out little handouts. We need to empower communities" - Wanyoto.


She further called upon all women in leadership to teach and implement all government programs that fight poverty like EMYOOGA and Parish development model (PDM).
