The Prime Minister of Uganda, Rt. Hon Nabbanja Robinah has officiated at the closure of the Second National Women Leader’s Forum organised by the Ministry of Gender Labour and social development at Imperial Royale in Kampala.


The forum has been conducted under the theme “consolidating the Gains on the Delivery of Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment: Strategizing to Advance the Women’s Agenda in Uganda .


According to Minister Betty Amongi, the Second National Women Leaders’ Forum is intended to provide a platform for mobilising women to support each other in order to be able to advance the gender equality and women’ empowerment agenda in Uganda.


During the Forum women leaders pointed out epidemics, climate change ,backlash, gender based violence,as major threats to gender equality gains made in Uganda and globally.


They thus adopted eight remarkable commitments based on the strength of the current  strategic leadership positions held by women to address these challenges.


The Premier Challenged women leaders to condemn all initiatives that aim at demeaning the integrity and women empowerment agenda.


The 1st Deputy Prime Minister Rt Hon Rebecca Kadaga, NRM National women's league, Hon. Lydia Wanyoto Mutende, Ministers, MPs and other women leaders participated in the forum.
