2026: EC Releases General Elections Road Map- Presidential nominations scheduled for 2nd-3rd October 2025.

Today 2nd August 2023, the Electoral  commissioner Uganda has launched the Strategic Plan 2022/2023-2026/2027 and Roadmap for the 2025/2026 General Elections.

According to information released today, the nomination of candidates for Presidential elections will take place on the 2nd &3rd October 2025.

Nomination of candidates for Parliament of Uganda 16th &17th September 2025.

Nomination of Candidates for Local Governments including SIGs will take place between the 3rd &12th of September, 2025

The polling Period for Presidential, Parliamentary, and Local Government Councils including SIGs will take place between 12th January 2026 & 12 February 2026.

During the release, the Electoral Commission Uganda Chairperson, Justice Byabakama Mugenyi Simon urged the various stakeholders in the electoral process to use the Roadmap to Improve in the planning for participation and implementation of electoral activities.
