70 students and 13 staff narrowly survive as Kakise bus totally burns.


Passengers of the Teso’a renown transport company known as Kakise transporters were traumatized today 22rd August 2023 after their bus caught fire on it’s way to Kampala.


The traffic police department of Ngora Central Police Station have confirmed incident to the media.

Ageca says that the  police fire Brigade responded swiftly to manage the scene and put off the flaming bus which has been reduced to a shell.




Oscar Gregory Ageca the East Kyoga Regional Police spokes person informed media that the accident occurred on Wednesday 22th August 2023 at about 01:00AM at Atot Swamp along Mukongoro road that involved an Isuzu bus registration number UAS 437P  belonging to Kakise coaches as police confirmed.


“Preliminary findings indicate that the bus here  was carrying seventy students and thirteen teachers of  Palisa Girls traveling back to Palisa district from Serere musical festival and that during the journey the rear tyre burst, and caught fire which quickly spread to the whole bus”, he said.




The students and teachers were safely evacuated with no injuries to any occupants, however all property on board was a total write off.

We are currently in the process of towing the wreckage to Kumi CPS.
