After being grilled by the Mpaka committee, Ssali is headed to face the SSegona committee, IGG & Statehouse anti-corruption unit.

Things look to be out of hand with the Ministry of Trade Industries and Cooperatives permanent secretary, Ms Geraldine Sali as she is being grilled over corruption and irregularities in the ministry.

After being grilled yesterday 1st  2023 Augustby the chairperson of the Committee on the Trade, Tourism, and Industry, Hon. Mwine Mpaka, PS Ssali is expected to appear before another committee which is headed by Hon. Medard Sseggona.

According to the information gathered, Ms. Ssali is expected to appear before Hon. Medard Ssegona who heads the Public Accounting Committee (PAC), which is another complicated grilling point at parliament.

This committee has only experts who are good at grilling accounting officers characteristically till they sweat plasma.

After appearing before this committee, Embattled Ssali is expected to face the Inspectorate of Government (IGG) Betty Namisango Kamya.

There after, Statehouse is expected to grill her as well over corruption and swindling Government funds.

Yesterday 1st August 2023, three Trade ministry officials were arrested over shs 357m fuel card forgery.

However, during the Mpaka committee, it was also revealed that some Ministry staff have been receiving more fuel than the ministers themselves, prompting concerns about mismanagement of fuel within the Ministry by Embattled PS Ssali.

Surprisingly, Ssali also discovered that some ministers were not receiving their monthly fuel entitlements.

She presented documents showing the fuel consumption of the Ministers, with Senior Minister Francis Mwebesa having received fuel worth 39 million shillings, State Minister for Trade Harriet Ntabazi 59.2 million shillings, State Minister for Industry David Bahati 41.9 million shillings, and State Minister for Cooperatives Fred Ngobi Gume 43 million shillings.
