Cavendish University Uganda (CUU) has announced its 12th Graduation ceremony that will take place on Thursday 10th August 2023 at speak Resort Munyonyo.
This was confirmed in a press conference at cavendish University today 3rd August 2023, by the Executive director, professor John Mugisha.
According to Professor Mugisha over seven hundred and ten (710) students are expected to graduate in various courses.
The function shall be officiated by the Guest of honour, Hon. Dr. Monica Musenero – Minister of Science. Technology and innovations and H.E Goodluck Ebele Jonathan the former president of the the federal republic of Nigeria, who shall preside over as the chancellor.
While speaking to journalist in the press conference today the University VC announced that the university has warded 42 scholarships to eligible students.
"In the same spirit and in pursuit of fulfilling the university mission of transforming and inspiring students to their full potential in employment entrepreneurship and ethical leadership, Cavendish is pleased to announce 30 marit, and 12 leadership and exemplary performance scholarship award to successful applicants and exemplary performance" - Said VC prof- Mugisha
He further elaborated that these awarded scholarships are based on academic quality, leadership and exemplary performance.
"This year a total of 42 scholarships shall be awarded and we will continue to build on that as we respond to the needs, interests, and lifestyles of our Students in line with our academic model"- VC Prof- Mugisha.
The university has partnership with several iconic leaders who also offer scholarships to students i.e. the Mukapa scholarships- for Tanzanian students, Sudan Scholarship which is sponsored by the government and the Rebecca Kadaga Scholarship- which are funded by, the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for East African Community Affairs, Rebecca Kadaga.
During the press conference, the executive director, Mr. David Mutabanura announced new programmes and course units which have been chipped in.
"CUU has introduced the masters of information Technology (MIT) degree, Diploma in paralegal studies (DPS) and a higher Education Certificate in Biological Sciences programme as new academic programmes geared towards effective responses to market needs"- Mr. David Mutabanura.
According to Mr Mutabanura, the new programmes shall provide a wide range off practical skills that will sharpen the Knowledge, skill and attitudes of students to respond to respective futures day-day industry needs.
