Journalist Work On Empty Stomach During The G-25 African Coffee Summit In Munyonyo.




Journalist covering the G-25 African Coffee Summit in Munyonyo on the outcry for working on empty stomachs for the whole day.


According to sources, only water was given to journalists at 10 am.


This was during the opening of the three-day second G-25 Africa Coffee Summit, held at Speke Resort Munyonyo. Running under the theme: “Transforming the African Coffee Sector through value addition”, and President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni was the chief Guest.


"The ushers refused to give us food saying coupons are for only delegates"- Journalists revealed.


The Journalists arrived in Munyonyo as early as 7 am because there must be equipment inspected by the Presidential Press Unity (PPU) since the president was expected to attend the function


"It is so funny for people to always take us for granted, we are the fourth estate but we are also Huma beings we also go hungry. Take for example i may have money to pay for a meal but the hotel can't allow me to bring in food from outside yet their food is so expensive" - Journalists.


On several occasions, Journalists are always left out on welfare most especially on Government summits, conferences, and National celebrations.


Uganda Coffee Development Authority (UCDA), who are the host and organizers of the event was nowhere to be, according to journalists, the PRO went into hiding.
