Hon Richard Ssebamala, the Member of Parliament Bukoto Central in Masaka District has been accused of making away with Five (5) Million shillings, meant to buy iron sheets for a Catholic School in Masaka.
It is alleged that in Feb 2023, Hon Ssebamala collected the five million from a yet-to-be-identified Rev. Father in a catholic school in Masaka, promising to go and buy iron sheets from a factory for the school.
"Yes he promised to give us a hand on the construction of the girl's dormitory, upon calling him on the phone, he requested me to send him all the funds we had collected through a fundraising drive, telling me how he would top up and buy all the iron sheets" - Rev. Father.
They further said that they'd waited for the iron sheets to arrive but all in vain.
Responding to these allegations, Hon. Ssebamala accepted to have received the money but he claims he refunded it back though after a very long time, due to financial challenges.

According to Ssebamala, the Rev. Father never complied with the terms and conditions they had agreed on.
"Father was supposed to top up more 3m as balance, I also sent the 5m to the factory though I could collect the iron sheets because they were demanding me" - Ssebamala's response.
Why money took so long:
Hon. Ssebamala claims that money was delayed due to a financial crisis and other reasons.
"I was organising a football tournament at the same time I was supposed to travel to South Africa. All this delayed the refund process"- Ssebamala.
He further claimed that the father is conniving with an NRM member only identified as Kasolo to Blackmail him.
Hon. Richard Ssebamala responds.
"That father is NRM and he is fighting me because his friend Kasolo is going to contest against me in 2026."- Ssebamala .
