Somalia’s communications minister has said the country has barred TikTok, Telegram, and online-betting website 1Xbet to curb the dissemination of indecent content and propaganda.
Notably, the insurgent group al-Shabaab frequently utilizes platforms like TikTok and Telegram to share information about their operations.
This move comes shortly after President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud announced a military campaign targeting al-Shabaab to eradicate the al-Qaeda-affiliated organization within the next five months.
