The speaker of parliament of Uganda, Rt. Hon. Anita Among has pitch camped in Bukedea District ahead of her thanksgiving ceremony slated for 13th - 14th August 2023.
Before preparing a meal for her voters today 11th August 2023, the speaker engaged with a group of Bukedea local leaders to have a smooth running of the event.
According to the speaker's press secretary, Mr. Joseph Sabit Speaker @AnitahAmong
retreated to the kitchen to prepare lunch for her constituents at her country home in Kamutur, Bukedea District.
Subit confirmed that the speaker will this Sunday 13th, host a Thanksgiving Mass to thank God for his grace and blessings.
According to the programme seen by reporter, the speaker has fully sponsored the event to an extent of offering free transportation for Kampala people .
"We shall have busses packed at parliament as early as 6am on Sunday 13th August 2023 for all well-wishers who are willing to travel to Bukedea district for the event" - Event organizer.
Speaker Among is the elected Woman Member of parliament of Bukedea District who went in unopposed in 2021 general elections.
