Hon. Richard Wanda, Member of Parliament, Bungokho Central, Hon. Wandwasi Robert, Member of Parliament representing Bungokho South, and Hon. Connie N Galiwango, Woman Member of Parliament, Mbale City have opted to sideline with sister Rose Nelima, the head teacher of Mbale School for the deaf in the ongoing controversial transfers.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
Recently, The Ministry of Education's permanent secretary made changes, where the head teacher of Namawanga Secondary School, Mr. Wandulu Dismus was transferred to Mbale School for the Deaf amidst Investigations, by the Parliamentary Committee on Education and Sports.
This forced Members of parliament to immediately halt transfers since there was an investigation regarding irregularities at the school.
It was also noted that Mr. Wandulu Dismus is also being investigated on by state house anti-corruption unity concerning altering numbers at Namawanga SS. During to committee meeting probing the saga at the deaf school, it was highly noticed that the three members of parliament from the Bugisu region were sidelining with the current Head teacher.
This was clearly shown yesterday when the school board of governors held a meeting to find a way forward on what is next since school is to re-open next week for the third term.
