2 Suspected ADF arrested

The joint security teams in Rwenzori west region arrested Matsiko Farouk a resident of Kafunda cell in Ibanda municipality over allegations of having a link on the allied democratic forces that have for long been terrorizing the country in the past.

According to the police spokesperson Fred Enanga, upon interrogation of the suspect their team found out that he was recruited into the rebel group in 2015.

“He was at one time in the ADF ranks after being kidnapped around 2015 in River Nyamambwa Kasese district and taken to the DRC where he was trained as an intelligence officer.” said Enanga

Enanga adds that the capture of the suspect came following a tip off from the local community members who had developed suspicion against him.

“he claims he escaped from California ADF camp in the DRC and had returned to his home in kafunda Ibanda district before shifting to nyanga cell for casual work, so that's where the community being vigilant raised suspicions regarding his conduct and we managed to arrest him.” He revealed

In the same line, Enanga also revealed the arrest of another suspected ADF terrorist called Komakech Ransul a k.a kadogo who was arrested by the police in Kampala metropolitan after being found in possession of live ammunitions.

“He was also recruited into the allied democratic forces at the age of 7 years a d managed to escape and returned to Uganda, but of course when you return to Uganda and again we find you with ammunitions, then that shows probably there is suspicion regarding his stay within the country.” Enanga said

Police say, their operations surrounding all spaces in villages, trading centers, towns and cities against the allied democratic forces remnants and other criminal elements are still ongoing allover the country, so that acts of terrorism are brought to an end in Uganda.
