Hurting: Two children killed, several injured in Masaka’s school dorm fire

Today Monday at Kasana Junior School in Masaka City, a boys’ dormitory was completely destroyed by fire around 4:00am, leaving nine students wounded and at least two children dead.

Aloysius and Malik Katende were named as the deceased by the authorities.

Authorities estimate that around fifteen students from the P1 and Top classes were housed in the impacted hostel.

Eleven children and the matron were impacted by the fire, according to the police.

At Masaka Regional Referral Hospital, where the injured are receiving medical attention, over fifteen parents hurried to see how their children were doing.

Alpha Wasswa, Austin Kisomose, Grant Matovu, Martin Muganga, Arnold Mwesigye, Sharid Mwanje, and others who were only named as Ssenoga and Ahimbisibwe are among the injured.

“Things are starting to settle down. Wandera commented, “We’re going to talk to pupils to go back to school so that business continues,” while pleading with parents to remain composed.
