Hon. Justin Kasule Lumumba, the head of Publicity, communication, and entertainment, on the committee organising the Kyabaziga's Royal wedding, has revealed that there will be a pre-royal wedding series of events, which has been termed as:- a royal banquet/dinner.
This will take place on the 27th of October 2023, at Kololo Independence Ground Kampala starting at 5 pm.
While addressing the media at the Sheraton Hotel on the 18th of October 2023 in Kampala, Lumumba revealed that the event shall be open to all guests though accessing the venue shall be by card.
"The cards cost Five hundred thousand shillings (UGX 500,000/-) per guest, while cooperate tables shall go for Five million shillings (UGX 5,000,000)"- Lumumba said.
According to Hon. Lumumba, the top red carpet event has been organised as part of a series of activities being conducted within Busoga and other areas to allow several friends of Busoga not based in Busoga, corporate entities, humanitarian agencies, and other partners to showcase and be part of the royal celebrations.
She further said that the organising committee is so pleased to inform the general public that the preparation for the royal wedding slated for the 18th of November 2023 is moving on well.
"I want to appreciate all persons, corporate, and other entities that have associated with historical event" - Lumumba.
When asked about Absa Bank turning down their financial support request, Lumumba said that the bank has not written to them officially.
"We don't force people or organisations to contribute towards the royal wedding, the bank has not yet written to us as a committee, we are also just seeing the document in media" - Lumumba.
