The Kyabazinga, William Gabula Nadiope IV, was introduced to Mutesi's parents in Mayuge district, which paved the way for a traditional nuptial ceremony.

A committee comprising 23 members was put together to oversee the organisation of the wedding.

The royal wedding organising committee is composed of: the presidential affairs minister, Milly Babalanda, as the local governments’ mobilizer; general duties minister Justine Lumumba, as the head of media; KCCA director Dorothy Kisaka, in charge of special assignments; the chairman of the Uganda Moslem supreme council, Dr. Mohammed Lubega, as the general coordinator; and David Batema, the resident judge of Iganga High Court.

Multiple organisations and individuals have so far contributed to the drive. Reports indicate that all clan heads will have to contribute at least one cow.

This decision was made at a meeting headed by the minister of culture, Richard Mafumo, at the kingdom headquarters in Bugembe.
