The Mayor Mbale industrial city division Mr. Masaba Muhamood Mutenyo graduated from Bugema University with a Diploma in Social work and Social Administration.
The chartered Seventh-day Adventist Institution of Higher Learning held its 29th graduation on Sunday 5th,Nov, 2023, at the main campus in Luwero district, presided over by the Chancellor Pr Dr Moses Maka under the theme; "Stepping boldly forward" which was derived from Joshua 1:9
Mr. Masaba who's also the NRM chairman Mbale district commended God, his lecturers, family for this success.
Masaba says, his father was a soldier who died while he was still young and getting education was a big problem.
He appeals to the young generation who have a chance to be at school to study and not struggle at later stage like some of them.
"Those who have been saying that am not educated now here are the papers, me as a person I ask them we come together and serve our people," Muhamood said.
He revealed that he will go back for further studies and acquire a degree.
The Vice Chancellor Dr Israel Masiko Kafeero confirmed that a total of 960 students graduated this year.
Kafeero said, from today your CVs are going to be distinguished with a recognized university.
"We celebrate your hard work, parents, guardians, sponsors, boda boda, drivers and everyone who helped you to achieve this success." Kafeero noted.
"You're lucky to have graduated on a university which is fully chartered and no one can challenge your papers," Kafeero said.
In 2009, Bugema University received a charter from the government recognizing it as a fully-fledged university and introduced programs in business administration, education, development, counseling psychology, and public health.
He challenged the graduands to be job creators not job seekers, we have trained you more.
"Step forward boldly as you front God in all your endeavours, and work with determination you will be better people in the country." He added.
