Uganda's Largest Telecommunication Company, MTN Uganda has today 2nd November 2023, Contributed Two Hundred And Fifty Million Shillings Towards The smooth Planning Of The Kyabazinga Royal wedding Scheduled For This Month.
The Cheque was handed over to the katukiro of Busoga, Dr. Joseph Muvawala by Ms. Sylvia Mulinge, the MTN CEO Uganda.
In his speech, the Katukiro of Busoga, Dr Joseph Muvawala thanked MTN for always supporting Busoga Kingdom whenever they are in need.
"MTN is our main sponsor in the preparations of the Royal wedding, they've played a very big role even before this event, they've been part of us and we are so grateful as Busoga Kingdom" - Katukiro said.
Ms. Mulinge revealed that MTN Uganda, its core value is to always keep in touch with its customers, and Busoga has been a great selling point to them.
She also broke down the expenditure of the donations.
"150 million Ugandan shillings will go towards making this day special and 100 million Uganda shillings in supporting pre-wedding parties in communities in the kingdom. This contribution reflects our unwavering commitment to being a part of the kingdom's effort to promote the hopes and aspirations of its people." - MTN Uganda CEO, Mulinge.
The Busiki (pre-wedding parties) celebrations will take place in the counties of Budumbula, Iganga, and Mayuge. These celebrations will feature bull roasting, discounted drinks via MoMo, and a wide array of surprise entertainment acts.
According to Mulinge, the goal is to spread even more joy and togetherness in the Busoga community.
Mulinge further called upon countrymen and women to contribute toward the preparation of the event.
"And that is not all, to ensure that every member of Busoga Kingdom and well-wishers can participate in making this day truly unforgettable, MTN Mobile Money, in collaboration with the kingdom, has launched a special MoMo code 707070 where everyone can contribute any amount of money to go towards making this historic occasion memorable."- She said.
