Hadijah Namutebi - chief political commissar

As the deadline for the non-compliant balalos in Northern Uganda comes to an end this weekend on Saturday, the Uganda police force have come out to warn all those that have not yet hide to president's directives to do it before its too late.

Early this month President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni ordered the Balaalo (nomadic pastorists) with non-fenced farmland in the Greater North to vacate the region in 3 weeks in response to the ongoing conflicts between the balalos and the northern Uganda Luo communities where many claimed the animals are being grazed on their agricultural crops.

Speaking to journalists at the police headquarters in Naguru, the chief political commissar of Uganda police Hadijah Namutebi urged the victims to to do the needful before their team comes in to enforce the directive.

"as you are aware there was a presidential directive to remove all the cattle keepers in northern Uganda and there were set guidelines which were given to follow and a gross period of three weeks was given and this gross period is expiring on the 25th of November 2023, which is Saturday of this week.” She revealed.

"so for all those who have not yet complied with the guidelines given after the expiry of the gross period, the implementation will begin. We caution all those who are still there to do comply within the remaining days and also ask the area police and all the stakeholders who are part of the team to do the implementation to prepare incase 25th November comes and there are still those people who will not have complied.” She added.
