The lead pastor of Christian Life Church, Pastor Jackson Senyonga has challenged the Director of Public Prosecution DPP to serve equal justice by prosecuting and re-opening the closed file of youths who are accusing the lead pastor of Rubaga Miracle center Cathedral, Pastor Robert Kayanja of sodomizing them just as he prosecuted the victims for alleged criminal trespass.
Addressing a press conference on Tuesday morning at his church in Kampala, Pastor Senyonga said that he established that the young men went to pastor Kayanja’s church at miracle center alleging that they had been sodomized by pastor Kayanja and that they were subsequently arrested for criminal trespass.
And that he also established that the boys lodged a complaint against pastor Kayanja insisting that he sodomized them.
Unfortunately, Pastor Senyonga says the DPP opted to prosecute the alleged sodomy victims for allegedly tarnishing Pastor Kayanja’s name and for criminal trespass but decided to close the complaints file lodged in by the boys against Pastor Kayanja who they accuse of sodomizing them. He has thus requested the DPP to also process the young men’s file against Pastor Kayanja as is with the latter’s file if justice is to be served.
“I am a spiritual leader who is sympathetic about both Pastor Kayanja and the boys who allege that he sodomized them and I want justice to prevail especially in court but it can only be achieved by both sides being given equal consideration. Just like the DPP processed pastor Kayanja’s criminal trespass file, the same way he should process that of the boys insisting that Pastor Kayanja sodomized them as opposed to merely giving one side serious consideration and leaving out the other.
While there are likely to be some boys who may want to take advantage of the situation to make money,
it is also important for DPP to know that there are also boys who are insisting that they were actually sodomized and deserve to be heard.” Said Senyonga.
