"The public is not aware that what they call soil is not Soil" - Minister Minsa Kabanda.

 

"The public should be informed that what looks like Soil is not soil, this is a very different substance which Kampala Capital City Council (KCCA) uses to refill potholes in City Roads" - Minister Hajjat Minsa Kabanda while addressing journalists at the Uganda Media Center.

The minister for Kampala shocked journalists on Thursday, November 23rd, 2023 when she revealed that the KCCA technical team wasn't using soil to refill potholes. 

According to Kabanda what Ugandans call soil is not actually soil but rather a different substance which looks like soil.

It should be noted that Ugandans have for so long put up complaints over the poor state of roads in the City. Others opted to take a debate to social media asking questions like "why does KCCA fill potholes with soil which can't last for even a week, most especially in rain season?
