Trouble: Police to further block opening of Nup party headquarters tomorrow.

More trouble for the opposition political party, National Unity Platform as the police seeks to foil the official opening of their party headquarters for the second time which is tomorrow.

According to the spokesperson of Kampala metropolitan police Patrick Onyango, the ceremonial event will not be allowed to go ahead as planned unless NUP leadership meets with the government security agency.

"It has come to our attention that the Party leaders have not yet officially notified the Inspector General of Police regarding their event. Therefore, there has been no coordination or harmonization with the security forces.” He said

"In light of this, we recommend that the National Unity Platform initiates a dialogue and harmonizes with the relevant security authorities before proceeding with their planned function tomorrow.” Onyango added

The National Unity Platform had planned to officially open their head offices in Kavule kawempe division today, but later forced to extend the event to tomorrow on Friday due to the tight security presence at the gates of their new offices.
