Keddi foundation & partners send relief worth USD$50 million to affected families in the Palestine & Israeli War.
Keddi foundation an humanitarian organisation in together with their international partners, have donated a total of USD$50million to war victims in Palestine and Israel as a commitment towards alleviating the suffering caused by the conflict.
Among the reliefs the foundation has given out includes ambulances, food and refuge tents which will be equally distributed to the two affected countries as the foundation president Mutasa kafero Charles narrated."we have given 50 ambulances to Israel and 50 to Palestine and for the refuge tents we have given 70,000 tents and in particular we have given Israel 20,000 tents because they don't have much refugees like in Palestine. Then we have given 50,000 tents to Palestine because all buildings have been destroyed and they are sleeping on bare places so we have bought them enough tents. Thirdly we have given them food staffs totalling to 100 tons including rice and many others. We have given Israel 50 tons and Palestine 50 tons.” Said the foundation president.
Speaking at the event, the C.E.O of Keddi foundation Mr. Keddi Steven said their main objective is to serve all humanity regardless of where they come from.
"So we're not here because of politics, we are not here to fight anybody but we are here to advocate for peace and to tell everybody that every life matters. Our brothers in Palestine and Israel are all suffering. You are even aware that even in Uganda here any small tear gas, you have to stand still how about those who are in real war.” Keddi revealed
Keddi said their foundation in partnership with other international individuals from both the Moslem and Christian communities, sat down in a meeting for 3 weeks where they agreed to come up with the idea.
"our partners didn't want to come out openly because the world would say they are one sided. So they said that together with Keddi foundation let's pass all our messages through you and you deliver this assistance to people of Israel and Palestine.” Said Keddi
At least 17,487 Palestinians have been killed since the war broke up in October, according to Gaza Health Ministry's figures, while 1,200 people were killed in the Hamas incursion. It's upon this context that the C.E.O of Keddi foundation called on the two leaders to solve their differences amicably.
"as keddi foundation and partners today we hold this press conference to show the world that serve humanity and we are here to advocate for peace in both countries because war does not help but it brings more troubles.” Said Keddi
"Many have died, many are displaced and the world isn't at peace, but we are here to tell president Netanyahu and Muhammad Abas that you two can sit and end the war and peace prevails in the two countries.” He added
Keddi foundation is a non profit organisation dedicated to providing opportunities, dignity and hope to individuals and communities in need and fostering positive change globally.
The foundation has in the past donated relief items to Bulambuli landslide victims, they've donated ambulances to the communities in Butebo, the foundation recently earmarked a total of USD 1.2 million for emergency operations to the less privileged patients patients.They also provided scholastic materials to a number of schools across the country among other initiatives.
