Here is his told story of Adult Education:-
My Name is Washaki Ahamada, I am the RDC of Kumi District and a born in Mbale.
My journey to higher education began in 2007, while serving my 2nd term as an LC3 Chairperson, Bungokho sub county, in Mbale District, in Eastern Uganda when I took a decision to go back to school.
I sat for O-Level in 2007, and for A-Level at Nkoma SS in 2009.
I later made the first attempt to join Islamic University In Uganda (IUIU), to pursue a bachelor Degree in Development Studies but I couldn't go beyond Year 1, because of the pressure of school fees and obligations. I had to pay for my children and myself. I gave chance my children first.
In 2020, 2 years after I was appointed as a Resident District Commissioner, by H. E Gen Y T K Museveni President of the Republic of Uganda and NC NRM, I decided to go ahead with my dream of pursuing further studies.
This is when I applied to rejoin Islamic University In Uganda on mature entry, this time to pursue a bachelor Degree in Social Work and Social Administration on a weekend program.
I concentrated on my studies and on the 9th December, 2023 came to pass when I graduated with a bachelor's Degree in Social Work and Social Administration.
I take this opportunity to thank Allah (S. W) and all those who gave me support during my studies at the Islamic University In Uganda, that include, my Lecturers and the University Administration, my Wife Jamawa Washaki and my children, my supervisors at the Office of the President and H. E the President, not forgetting all of you who supported me in many ways including prayers.
At 61yrs now, my next resolve is to seek for a Masters Degree.
