SP. Michael Kananura - PRO Traffic Police has kicked off investigations into a fatal accident involving a Fuso Box Body registration number UBD 520H that has lost control and rammed into several vehicles including motorcycles at 7:00pm today, killing 2 people on the spot and injuring scores at the Northern bypass Namboole round about. According to the spokesperson of the Uganda traffic and road safety directorate Sp. Michael Kananura the Fuso was coming from Naalya.
“It’s Alleged that the driver of M/V Reg No UBD 520H was coming from Naalya heading towards Namboole Round about carrying maize, while at Namboole Round about from Naalya lost control, failed to break ramming into 13 Motor vehicles & 02 Motorcycles killing 02 people Instantly 01 female Passenger on a motorcycle & a male yet to be identified, Injuring several others yet to be identified.” Said Kananura
Kananura says the driver of the Fuso is on the run and the victims have been rushed to Gwatilo & Mulago Hospitals for treatment. The bodies have been taken to Mulago City mortuary for postmortem.
He further says the Motor vehicles & Motorcycles involved in the fatal accident, have been towed to Bweyogerere Police Station pending Inspection as more investigations continue.
