"Stop Sleeping In Cheap Hotels With Bedbugs" -Speaker Among warns MPs Going For EA-Games.

The Speaker of Parliament of Uganda, Rt. Hon. Nalongo Magogo Anita Among has warned MPs set to represent Uganda at the East African Games in Rwanda, against shaming their country by sleeping in cheap hotels.
Speaker revealed yesterday during plenary that the Government has given each member of Parliament enough cash for this activity.
"You will earn $720 (Shs2,719,602) per diem, this amount should be enough to get you a decent hotel, instead of camping in cheat hotels of US$20 (Shs75,533)" - Speaker Among.

Among also advocated for discipline amongst legislators during this sports event.
"I want to encourage MPs that as you go there, represent Uganda well in terms of discipline. I am giving you money, US$ 720 per day and you go and sleep in a room of US$20. that is unacceptable for a Member of Parliament, members go and represent us well, represent us well, don’t go and live miserably," said Speaker Among.

The Speaker is set to flag off the team Uganda  to Kigali, Rwanda for the 13th edition of the East African inter-Parliamentary games today 7th December 2023.
