IGG Summons Minister Kitutu Over Another Karamoja Supplementary Funds Misuse.

Embattled Karamoja Affairs Minister, Mary Goretti Kitutu has been summoned by the IGG.

The Inspector General of Government (IGG), Beti Kamya Turomwe has summoned embattled Karamoja Affairs Minister, Mary Gorreti Kitutu over alleged misuse of Supplementary funds released to the office of OPM.

The Summons dated 6th December, 2023, orders Kitutu to appear before the IGG on Thursday, 11th January, 2024 at 10:00AM.

The Summons is in relation to the Supplementary funds released to the Prime Minister’s Office to support Peace building activities in the Karamoja Sub region in FY 2021/22.

Jude Byamukama, Minister Kitutu’s lawyer has however protested the latest summons by the IGG saying it is an attempt by Kamya and her team to resurrect investigations when his client is supposed to undergo trial.

The summons comes at a time when the Anti-Corruption Division of the High Court has ordered for the trial of the minister.
