READ HERE- KCCA PARTNERSHIPS WITH DEVELOPMENT PARTNERS TO ACHIEVE A SMART CITY.

"External Patterners have supported the government in achieving the city Smart Agenda" - Executive Director Kampala Capital City Authority, Dr. Kisaka Dorothy.

While in a one-on-one with our reporter, ED Kisaka noted that Several activities that appear in the year planner may not be funded by the government of Uganda.

"Partners have supported education, health, tourism, and city infrastructure development" -ED Kisaka.

In 2023, KCCA received external funding for these city works:- 

1. The lighting of KCCA markets and schools and several refurbishments of city infrastructure were funded by UNDP. 

2. KCCA received support from Standard Chartered for training in financial literacy for all PDM beneficiaries in the 99 parishes, which will roll out in 2024.



3. KCCA received one million trees from the Private Sector Foundation for Greening Kampala city, which is the strategic plan. 

In 2024, under an initiative by the ministers of Kampala, Kampala City received a funding offer to hold a COVID remembrance parade. 

These are externally funded and not drawn from the government of Uganda budget but indicated in annual planned activities.
