Counsel Paul Wanyoto over the weekend Donated Three (3) Million Shillings and Sporting Equipment to Victorious Football Team Mbale Northern City Division.
On Saturday, January 13th, 2024, Mbale City Chairman Land Board, Counsel Paul Mugoya Wanyoto, extended a warm reception to over 70 members of Mbale Northern City Division FC at his country home in Nabweya and had lunch together.
The gathering celebrated the team's remarkable victory in the Umukuka III Cup tournament held at Mbale Stadium.
Counsel Paul, demonstrated his unwavering support by presenting the team with a substantial cash donation of Shs 3 million.
The jubilant team, led by their committee chairperson Mr. Mode Pius, was comprised of executive officials, talented football players, netball players, and their dedicated coaches.
In addition to the monetary contribution, Counsel Paul contributed to the team by generously donating 10 footballs for the boys and 5 Netballs for the girls.
Recognizing outstanding performance, a special recognition of 100 USD was awarded to the goalkeeper for exceptional skills displayed in saving three penalties during the finals against the Bubulo team from Namisindwa district.
The sporting gesture did not end there; the philanthropic act extended to essential equipment, including a New First Aid box.
Big Mama, the coach for the girls' team, expressed gratitude for the support and took the opportunity to appeal for further assistance, specifically highlighting the need for Netball boots and uniforms for both the coaching staff and female players.
Counsel Paul, in his response, emphasized that his generosity stems from a genuine desire to connect with people rather than political motives.
He pledged continued support by promising to purchase uniforms of the team's choice and provide the much-needed football boots.
He offered to assist teams if they formulate a plan in advance, but some people in Mbale require support tomorrow. But approach you today, this won't be feasible.
His benevolent actions exemplify a commitment to fostering camaraderie and community spirit through the love of sports.
