In a shocking revelation, Mr. Ahmed Wakhweya, a Well-known lecturer at the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU), is embroiled in a controversy that has sent shockwaves through the Bugisu subregion.
Our news website has uncovered a series of alarming allegations against Mr. Wakhweya, who has been accused of spreading blackmail stories about a Mbale City staff member and her family.
It is alleged, that Mr. Wakhweya allegedly seeks to manipulate the situation to benefit his wife, currently serving as a District Education Officer (DEO) in Bududa.
One of the family members from Kurima's family name withheld has accused him of involving himself in late Kurima's Estate which is found in Magale town council, Namisindwa District.
Notably, Mr. Wakhweya stands accused of abusing the Kurima family, using obscene language to paint a false narrative and tarnish her reputation.
On the local Whatsap platform "Namisindwa Today," he purportedly went as far as accusing the Kurima family of orchestrating the death of her father and plotting against her mother to inherit the family.
"Mr Wakhweya is not a clan member or rather a family friend but why is he so interested in our family issues" says a clan/family member.
This orchestrated campaign appears to be a strategic move to draw attention from government officials, potentially leading to the dismissal of the Mbale City staff who is a daughter to the late Kurima and paving the way for Mr. Wakhweya's wife to assume the position according to the Kurima family.
The Kurima family has threatened to petition IUIU over its Staff's actions. "if proven true, underscore the misuse of influence and academic credentials.
While in a phone call with Mr. Ahmed Wakhweya, he rated the above narration as allegations aiming at tarnishing his image.
However, he noted that the family had wrangles for a very long time and the property matter was before the court and the Equal Opportunities in Kampala.
"My wife is holding a good position in government, I don't see why I should fight anyone to fix my wife as they allege. Regarding the issue of properties, I had to come in because, the family was mistreating their old mother "- Wakhweya
