Pastor Eva Senyonga calls for gov’t intervention in implementation of new curriculum.

   Pastor Eva Senyonga - Director

The director of Code High School Pastor Eva Senyonga has urged government to do more training of the school teachers in regards to the newly introduced curriculum to enable it’s success across the country. She revealed this yesterday at the school’s celebrations where O’level best students were recognised following the release of the results this week by the ministry of education and sports.

Code High school managed to get 69 students in 1st grade, 37 students in 2nd grade and 19 students with 3rd grade in the just released O’level UNEB exams results for the year 2023.

Speaking at the ceremonial event, the director of the School pastor Eva Senyonga congratulated their best performers and thanked the school teachers who put in much effort to ensure that the students passed with good grades.

Pastor Eva Senyonga also thanked the ministry of education for introducing the new curriculum which she noted that will highly benefit and equip the students with the required knowledge and hands on skills.

“before it was all about memorising biology, geography, history, learning about the mathematics formulas but with the new curriculum they are teaching with a different angle for example how are these subjects going to help them in real life which wasn’t the case before.” Pastor Eva said

According to the director previously students who have been passing with grade A in most of these subjects, haven’t been of great importance to their communities in relation to what they had learned at the schools.

“Right now students are learning to be practical hence change the world. In a few years the work force in Uganda is going to be very productive because the students will be thinkers, problem solvers due to the new curriculum’s agenda which is all about problem solving and critical thinking.” She revealed

She however noted the challenge of financial strain which has become a big challenge to most of the schools in the implementation of the newly introduced curriculum.

“the new curriculum are kinda expensive for us this is a private school so the parents pay for their children but with other schools money is a big problem yet the curriculum is hands on. So you have do a lot of practicals which involves buy scholastic materials.” She revealed

She further called upon the ruling government to come in and initiate the training of the school teachers on the newly introduced curriculum since many lack the skills and Knowledge.

Meanwhile the headteacher of Code High school Joyce Nalongo also expressed her gratitude towards the almighty God who enabled their S.4 candidates to pass with flying colours.

   Joyce Nalongo Mukasa - Headteacher

“It’s really an honour that we’re moving at the rate which we are moving. I want to thank my teachers for the commitment and Children for embracing most of the programs that we intended for the good performance and directors who gave us a platform to exploit our potential.” Said the school headteacher Joyce Nalongo

She urged all parents looking for where to take their children to entrust them because the school has got all what is needed to enable a conducive environment for their children.

“We still stand as good performers if you look at the district ranking, we are among the best schools so I want to encourage you that look no further other than Code High school.” Joyce narrated

According to the school headteacher Joyce, they are so optimistic as school administrators given the good environment they’ve set hence looking forward for the best in the current year.

She further encouraged the outgoing S.4 students to stay focused and remember that Code High school remains their home, adding that the gates are still open for them if they wish to continue with them for the advanced level.

Code High School is a Christian secondary school that has been in existence for seven years. Students at Code High school live as a family and they engage in a wide range of activities both academic and co-curricular. The school offers both Ordinary and Advanced Levels of education.
