ONC's Namyalo urges residents to participate actively in the ongoing NRM registration process as she inspected Kampala ghettos

The second day of the NRM Register update exercise in Kampala saw Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, the Manager of the Office of the National Chairman of the NRM (ONC) and Senior Presidential Advisor (SPA/PA), taking charge of mobilization efforts in parts of the city suburbs.

Known for her stellar mobilization skills, Hajjat Hadijah embarked on a comprehensive tour of various areas in Kampala, including  Wabiduuku in Kiwatule, Kiyaaye in Nankulabye, Kataba in Kabalagala, Mengo, and Kibuli, targeting predominantly slum areas including ghettos. During her visits, she urged residents to participate actively in the registration process.

Concerns were raised regarding the lack of adequate publicity preceding the exercise, which commenced on March 13th and concluded on the 17th of the same month. Low turnup has been attributed to the limited publicity before the exercise even though resources for the same were availed.

Hajjat Hadijah also stressed the importance of robust participation to ensure accurate representation within the ruling NRM's register.

She observed the challenges faced by registration personnel, noting insufficient facilitation, with many relying on the generosity of residents for necessities.
Most of them were given a paltry shs10k as day's facilitation.

Hadijah's efforts align with a broader strategy to galvanize support for NRM National Chairman, President Yoweri Museveni, particularly in Kampala. Despite electoral setbacks in the 2021 general elections, President Museveni remains committed to reclaiming the party's presence in the city.

During her engagements, the ONC Manager underscored the significance of ghetto residents as fundamental pillars of President Museveni's support base. She also emphasized inclusivity, encouraging participation from all sectors of society, including sex workers.
