EU Official Says Honored To Meet Bobi Wine, The Uganda’s LGBT Rights Champion

An official of the European Union has posted a message on X expressing his excitement for meeting National Unity Platform party president Bobi Wine who he described as a champion for Homosexual rights.

The message which has widely been quoted by Ugandans on social media has however been deleted after it went viral among Ugandan circles. Some X users observe that the post could have been deleted at the request of Mr Kyagulanyi who fears the backlash among Ugandans who loathe homosexuality.

In the post on his account, David Vidal Sans noted:

“Honored to meet Uganda's most prominent leader @HEBobiwine. He is not only fighting for human and LGBTI+ rights but also exposing the dictatorial reality of his country in the 2024 Oscar-nominated documentary Bobi Wine: The People's President.” The screenshot of the now deleted post is now circulating on various social media platforms.

It should be noted that Bobi Wine has been cagey on his position about the recently passed homosexual law that prohibits the promotion of the loathed practices.

However recently he was allowed to travel to the UK where he expressed warm views about LGBT practices. He even went ahead to say that NUP MPs who supported the antihomosexual law work for President Museveni.
