The ICT and Guidance minister, Chris Baryomunsi has described the Sanctions against the speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Anitah Among, and other government official as hassles.
According to minister Chris, It’s not the UK or the US to fight corruption for the republic of Uganda.
"As a government, we do fight corruption, but also, we don`t act by impulse, because social media or the media has reported it. We investigate, we induce evidence, and we take action. So, which evidence does"-Baryomunsi
The directive follows media reports, which indicated that speaker Among owned expensive buildings and other businesses in the United Kingdom.
While Sanctioning the speaker and other two mps, Hon. Agness Nandutu and Hon. Goretti Kitutu for mismanaging the Karamoja Iron Sheets, UK claimed to have Frozen Among's UK accounts and other properties, while the USA government sanctioned a good number of officials, including a few army officials.
While responding to the allegations, Among claimed that she doesn't own even a pussycat in the UK.
