The President of Uganda’s Football Governing Body (FUFA) Eng Hon. Moses Magogo Saturday presented a UGX 50 million winning bonus to the Uganda Cranes, fulfilling a promise made by Speaker of the Parliament of Uganda Rt. Hon. Anita Among.
The bonus comes on the heels of the Cranes’ thrilling 1-0 victory over Botswana at Namboole Stadium, courtesy of Shaban Muhammad’s second-half goal, a win which sent shockwaves of excitement throughout the country, with Ugandans revelling in the team’s triumph.
Speaker Among, who had pledged the bonus, congratulated the players on their hard-fought win, commending their resilience and fighting spirit.
“I am thrilled to see the Uganda Cranes emerge victorious against Botswana,” she said.
“Their determination and perseverance have made us proud, and I wish them the best of luck in their upcoming match against Algeria.” Ms Among added
The bonus presentation ceremony was a testament to the growing support for the Uganda Cranes, with FUFA President Magogo emphasizing the importance of recognizing the team’s achievements.
