ONC Boss Namyalo Denies Corruption Allegations, Calls for Police Investigation

Namyalo breaks silence on Iran scholarships, distances self from extortion claims

The Special Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs and Head of the NRM National Chairman’s Office (ONC), Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye has trashed the baseless allegations implicating her of soliciting money from Ugandan students to secure scholarships to study in Iran.

Hajjat Namyalo revealed this on Tuesday, June 25, whilst responding to social media reports that she had been summoned to appear before officers at Kampala CPS on a string of allegations including extortion and human trafficking.

While addressing the media at Kyambogo ONC offices, the ONC boss clarified the issue of scholarships, and the relationship between ONC and the Iran Embassy, saying the embassy last year approached the office for a scholarship opportunity to the benefit of the Bazzukulu and 93 students were successful and those who fully met the criteria travelled to Iran for their studies.

“What I can say about this matter is that Iran gave us scholarships and this was coordinated by one Esther Nankinga. When they brought these students to me, I cautioned them [students] not to pay any single coin to any person. So if you know you paid money go demand it now from whoever you gave it to, or go to the police and report them,” she asserted.

Namyalo, however, blasted propagandists spreading rumours to tarnish her good image saying anyone accusing her of the above should present proof instead of fronting biased and baseless rumours.

“I have been seeing all that trash of people talking carelessly about this matter of Iran, the truth is no one paid me a single coin. If any student is saying they paid ONC to get the scholarship or paid me as a person let that person go to the police with proof they come and arrest me.”

As a concerned leader, Namyalo condemned any form of corruption and asserted that if any fraud occurred, the responsible individuals should be held accountable, not the institution. She also made it clear that whatever is done at Museveni’s Kyambogo office is clear and transparent.

“This is not my office, it’s for Museveni and whatever I do here must be in line with his interests, not mine. Therefore before you tarnish my name think twice, am not poor enough to steal $100 from a student, am a proud farmer and my produce gives me good money so stop rumour-mongering things you don’t even understand,” she remarked, adding that police should come out to investigate and arrest whoever is implicated in this scandal.

She however warned those dragging her good name into such to stop or be ready to face the law for defaming her on baseless claims.

Namyalo, who is also profoundly known as the Chief Muzzuku used the same opportunity to rally thousands of Museveni’s Bazzukulu to turn up in large numbers this Thursday at Entebbe Muslim Grounds where Musevenomics gospel of wealth creation will be preached.

She revealed that with support from the President and well-wishers, her office has already secured empowerment tools worth millions and these will be distributed to bazzukulu regardless of their political affiliations.

“Every Ugandan is by default a Museveni Muzzukulu. So we shall be empowering NUP, NRM, PLU, FDC and anyone else who will come. This is about getting out of poverty not politics. This is not my money, it’s for Museveni and other big-hearted stakeholders who give our economic campaigns back up so come and tap into this economic boost brought by ONC.”

Among the tools that will be donated include fishing gear since Entebbe is a fishing community, salon equipment, welding machines, g-nuts crushing machines, sewing machines, chapati-making machines, chips frying machines, and agriculture inputs among others.

She added that the office also secured two motorcycles, courtesy of city businesswoman Maria Namusoke Kamoga of Honda by Markh Investments Ltd who donated towards the Wakiso empowerment drive two weeks ago.

In her concluding remarks, Hajjat Namyalo called for unity among stakeholders in the NRM party to achieve the common goal of #TovaKuMain2026, which aims to ensure President Museveni’s return to the ballot in 2026 and secure a decisive victory.
